Yea that's where I'm caught in a pickle.

OMFG! You lucky bastard, that's my dream swap right there. Learn to work the internals and still drive my car!

Good luck man, post regularly when you're building.

ALL MOTOR!

I definately am. Gotta look into the prices of things some more before I decide on All motor or Forced induction though. Either way it should be good

hey man, anything free is a good deal

you can rebuild it with crazy after market parts and probly still be less than a brand new one

don't get all excited, if something supposedly hit the top of the piston, then chances are the chamber in that cylinder at least is mangled, possibly other cylinders could be damaged as well. Getting a head repaired isn't cheap. Also, bore+hone at most machine shops would be around $200-250.

Can't say anything until the motor is opened up though. Hopefully everything looks good.

more like realistic, if a piston blew or whatever i bet the one sleeve is scarred so you'll need the bore/hone like said, but good snag too bad it still doesnt have any torque

Try and sell the B16, and use that money to get a 1.8L of some sort. Wish I did. I have a B16A with cams, computer, CAI, Header, Exhaust, LSD, Clutch, Flywheel, etc., and I still wish I had at least a B18C1.
Anyway, shouldnt be too much if you do the work yourself, and if you know how to shop around. Just keep looking, there are some great prices out there if you look hard enough.
Good luck

Oh indeed it is. The y5 is fun though. I was going to turbo that up but now all my sights have switched to the b16. :D

Yea I know I realized that. Wasn't just going to open it up check if somethings wrong replace whatever it is and close it up again, I'm going to do a full rebuild. And I realize that it's still torqueless, but that's what boost is for. I'm not keeping this thing stock.
