Default h22 swap from hell almost done, but now no vtec

last August I finally got my opportunity to do an h22 swap into my 97 accord coupe. I had been waiting to do this for years. So i went to the right people( or so I thought) and got my swap from hmotorsonline and had a shop thats been working on my car for awhile do the install. Well it took the shop over a month and they still had a tranny mount and a motor mount wrong, not to mention they didnt even wire vtec. So I took it to a different shop who wired the vtec ( it has a jdm p13 with a conversion harness cause the swap was obd1) and redid both mounts. After that it was smooth sailing for a month, it ran great and I was happy.
Then everything went down the *******, the car began hesitating at times when i was accelerating, it would rev but it was lethargic and acted like it just didnt want to rev at all, but vtec still kicked. Well about a week later it went into limp mode and vtec stopped engaging and about a week after that the oil light started to come on at idle. Long story short, we found out that the bearings were toast, so we did a complete rebuild, new rings, hot tanked the block, new bearings from honda, new gaskets and all that fun stuff. That took about 3 weeks cause of parts shipping to took a little longer than should have. Anyways the car got a rod knock 2 weeks later, so i just decided to buy a whole new short block and we just installed that and it runs good but still no vtec.

Now I understand vtec depends on the oil pressure, temperature, and vtec solenoid and oil pressure switch. The only codes were gettting are map sensor and intake air temp, i changed out the air temp with a new one so thats gone. But no matter what map sensor we put in it still throws the map code. Im just wondering at this point is that the wiring that was done initially was just bad and now the right info isnt going the right places and vtec cant kick or maybe the vtec solenoid is bad or hell it might be the damn ecu. Either way if i covered all those things it would be over 400 bucks and i have spent over 6 grand trying to get this thing running and i dont have anything left to spend. So I am just looking for some thoughts and advice on how to get vtec working, Thanks so much you guys are awesome.

make sure the map sensor is getting good vaccume...if its not the car wont run right if at all. also double check the wiring for kinks and pinchs....then go from there
