Default Adding mesh to the frnt bumper..got ques about hooks.

Got a few ques. Have ap2, but used the ap1 service manual to remove front bumper. I got all the screws that the manual said to remove, but how do I pull it off of the car without breaking it. The hooks have a hold and I don't want to start forcing **** off without asking you guys. Also how are most people securing the mesh to the backside of the bumper....are they using strong apoxy or screws??

Thanks

They clip in right under the headlight. Gotta give it a good tug.

What kind of mesh are you using? Some epoxy would do.

Funny, as soon as I get it off, you posted. You were right just had to give a good tug. I am always a little sketchy when it comes to pulling things off of your own car. The mesh is APC It's a criss-cross pattern, and all of the metal is spiraled. Pretty good looking.....we'll see. I will post a pic when done.

APC? Hmm... I took carbon fabric and frayed it out, then epoxied it to the opening of a hood. Looks pretty badass.

The another night I was riding on 95, as I was passing a semi a peice of retred busted off his tire and I hit a peice of it. Didn't think nothing of it until the next morning when I saw what it did. It must have hit the black bumper insert and broke it. It was lying up in the bumper against the radiator So I decided to go with this.

The mesh is OK but it would probably look better in black.

Where did you put the chickens after you took away their coop to make that front grill?

But from the looks of the "mesh" it appears to restrict airflow.

I think we may have noticed the damage if a piece of re tread hit the front of your car. No need to make excuses for the purchase of the grill. You tried it out because you liked it, but now it's on and hopefully you see how it destroys the appearance of what was a clean S. Good luck.

haha...You would think so, but the only marks are inside around where the clips hook up to the bumper and got most off with a light buff compound. I did pretty good to hide all the marks. You can't even tell except if you get up on the bumper and really look. So thanks!

The black insert piece has only one clip left and some of the plastic broke away and can not be fixed. I think it is so funny how peoples taste differs. Everyone that I have talked to likes it better than the original bumper crap. They said it originally looked like Honda had cheaped out on the bumper.

I thought this trend went out of style in 1999?

Only benefit I see is that it'd keep big bugs out of my radiator.
