NHRA- CONTAINMENT DEVICES SPORT FWD AND RWD?
I see this in the Rule book now, what is everyone doing for this? Anyone else overlook needing one?
The average person who just wants to go race in this class because they see/hear the advertisement will not be prepared!
Rule book says it is mandatory!
I just want to run my stock R32 in SRWD for fun next weekend but all I have is a stock tray under the car! It only runs low 13's!
Wow, didn't expect this for Street Cars!
Any suggestions what to get?

Guess all Sport FWD and RWD cars will need to have something like these! Will this work?
Damn, i don't even have any power adders! What about the quick 16 cars, we should have these as well!

unfortunately, it is mandatory for the class!! i wil try to copy/paste.
I looked for an e.t. requirement but there is none stated.
Damn adobe- can't copy/paste!
Anyway, SFWD under class requirements, page 28, under Section 1.Engine.

You are correct, same with SRWD. I just want to make sure no one else overlooked this!!!!! Rule book, Page 28, section 1 for sfwd. Page 34, sec. 1 for srwd.
Guess i have to get one if I want to play, summit and jegs carry them. I needed one for the GTi anyway. start at $231. NHRA, is that what you are looking for?
Now, i just have to figure out how much they will let me weigh with no power adders in SRWD with a 6 cylinder AWD car??????

That would make more sense, the average racer will not have one of these or even know about it!
Maybe anyone running forced induction only?

The containment rule came out of the fact that at practically every NHRA Sport Compact event over the past two years, there's been at least one big oildown a day courtesy of somebody in SFWD or SRWD. Most of the time, when the car tosses its lunch, the guy driving it stays right in the groove and coasts all the way down the track to the first turnout instead of pulling over, too.
It sucks to have to shell out $250 for a diaper or build a custom catch pan, but it's better than making everybody wait 90 minutes for the cleanup each time somebody pulls the pin on their grenade.

i thinks its a good idea...last weekend at firebird there was a ton of oil downs...the sad part is i called most of them when a car wouldn't sound right during the burnout, launch or first gear yet they would stay it the whole track..sputtering, popping, etc.

I noticed that too. Between the problems getting the tree to work and the amount of time it took the track crew to clean up after each "incident," it's a good thing that there weren't a lot of cars at Firebird or we'd still be there now trying to finish the event.

Anthony,
I think it is any head up class needs one. They should make it manditory for all rotaries since they always oil down the track.

a cheaper option that I found. not sure if this one will work for me. I think I will stick with the JJ one from Jegs.
This is $159, they even have an install video!!! http://www.gochampion.com/enginediaper.htm

RCI at jegs.com is $259.99, summit is $259.95.
J&J performance one is $239.99 at jegs.com as well.
both of them on jegs: http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs...top=Y
Summit: http://store.summitracing.com/...h.asp
Well, there you go! that is that!

Cool, it won't help me but it is another option for everyone else! Two weeks too late, put a fire under that thing!
Mounting this diaper is going to be a pain, I have to take the front end of the car off just to get to the intake manifold bolts!
LOL!
