hey, im trying to build my d16y7 up for some auto-x, i know i know, the motor sucks but i can't get a swap, so......i am about to pick up a y8 tranny, and i am wondering how big a difference it would make in the car, and also, how much would it take of a 1/4, and buddy of mine said he saw a guy loose a complete second with just the tranny swap, any1 can back this up, thanks i appreciate it

maybe going from cx to ex tranny... stepping up to the ex tranny is def one of the best things you can do to make you dx motor quicker

get the y8 tranny it is a whole lot better than the y7
your rpms will climb much faster which means you will accelerate faster in turn makes your 1/4 faster

and if you can't swap your motor then go TURBO!!!

 

i know i know, i just hate turbo's, im just wondering if any1 can clarify that i can get a whole sec. off my et, i am going to buy this tranny, im jw, but i hate turbo's, i love all motor, but with-out a swap its pretty worthless to go all motor with my d, which was what i was thinking about doing, but **** i dont know, i might have to jump on the turbo d bandwagon, i have got a y8 head in the basement, im just not confident on doing the mini-me, i have heard a lot of people with have the car not run right, and this is my dd
