I am about to buy a B20A3 Motor. I need to know if I can put a GSR head on it. Any help would be appreciated.

yup. basically a complete vtec head

 

I already have a head. and a Built block. But I am buying this for a friend. I am sending my block in to get built. it is a B18A1. I am sending this in on monday. Is the B20A3 any better than the B18A1? If it is PLEASE let me know.

A B20A3 is an engine out of an old Prelude. It is NOT a CRV engine. They are absolutely useless.

the old prelude engine only had about 130 hp

 

Is the bottom end worth anything though? Will it still work for the LS\Vtec Conv.?

Yes.

It's radically different from the rest of the B-series motors. It's old and generally useless, I hear, as well. VTEC heads will not bolt up. Mounting it might be a problem too - it won't use B-series mount positions, having been previously mounted in a larger Prelude. Don't waste your money.

 

too late I'm stupid. I guess I gave the wrong info to my friend. Someone needs to make a sticky on do's and dont's of a B-Series Ls\Vtec. It would be worth $225 (at least to me).

Seems to be a big problem around here. Someone asks if a b20a will work and 30 genius' say yes before some guy with half a brain or reading comprehension says. You guys realize a b20a is from a prelude and is best used as a boat anchor.
