im going to be running a quife. i personally got mine from cap1320 in the sponsors section. i got it for 850 shipped a little while back. i think its 895shipped now though. but take a look in the sponsor section.

if you want to save some money i guess you could go with the OBX, i heard they are made differently now, so i dont think the problem wiht the axles getting stuck happens anymore.

good luck with whatever you choose.

Arent there newer revised ones out? From reading here some people have been saying that the newer stuff is good and works perfectly.

But then again I have no real experience so I cant comment

Why not the ITR LSD? It too is a helical design and is OEM. (Of course this only works for the GSR transmission.) How much HP are you planning?

Quaife's lifetime warranty only covers if you shatter the unit. Since they provide no numerical data for quantifying the performance of their ATB LSD, there is no way that it can fail unless it shatters. The Helm manual has a check list to follow that allows the performance of the ITR LSD to be checked. (No, this does not consist of seeing if both wheels spin after dumping the clutch.)

Check Quaife's FAQ section. (Quaife FAQ) They will not even list a torque bias ratio, which is the key numerical parameter governing the performance of a Torsen style differential. I'm not saying that the Quaife unit is bad, just understand that their warranty is essentially meaningless.

I run the ITR LSD in my GSR transmission. I couldn't justify Quaife's price premium based on mere hand-waving.

Go with the Quaife, as it can handle higher HP than the ITR unit. Keep in mind what I said about the warranty above.

I was on the assumption that ALL these tranny's with a 4.400 Final could fit a oem LSD from either the CTR/ITR, excluding the 98 spec.

Which would mean that you can buy my NEW Civic Type R/Integra Type R LSD and slap it onto many differnt B-series transmission's. I'am selling it for the price of a OBX.

CAMP1320 sells both quafie and OBX so give Tom a call. If you have the money go with quafie but if not go with OBX.

Wow that is a nice response.........

Anyways, Do a lot of searching about OBX, all of there products seem to be pretty hit and mis. Some guys have great luck with there products (cams, LSD), other guys have had majore issues. I know there is a thread about an OBX lsd that "exploded"

IM TALKING TO THIS GUY AT MY LOCAL "IMPORT" SHOP AND HE SAYS obx SUCKS IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING....(sorry bout caps)
I guess you have to inspec the OBX LSD and re torque bolts and what not. But after that its fine. He says he has it and has 512HP on his civic hatch. Works fine. Do i need a speedo and bearings etc.?

I'll be putting on my OBX LSD that I got for a good price next week. I'll let you know how it goes and drives. I guess the right way would be Quafie, but I didn't pay much for it so, I'm not worried.
