Default import vs domestic threads...

why is it in every thread about imports vs domestics, it always compares a fwd vs a rwd but never brings up the fact that it is a fwd vs rwd? instead they tend to lean on the fact that the stereotype 4banger is fwd and never compare to the rwd 4 bangers? i dont get it. and i dont get the fact why there still is even arguments about this. haha we all know its fwd that has a handicap to rwd not on the # of cylinders and configuration its set at. reason i brought this up is because of the many popping up threads since the "pinks" episode came out.

Because what else would they bitch about? I rememebr when A honda sucked because it could never run 12's, then when they ran 12's it sucked because it cost too much to run 12's, then when everybody started running 12's for cheap, it sucked because they didnt run 10's without gutting, then since people started running 9's without gutting, its sucks because its FWD. think about it. what else is there to say when street hondas run just as fast as street rwd cars?.

Truth is no matter where you are now, at one point a Honda Busted your *** worse than anyone ever did up until that point, and it probably had rust and primer while doing it. so yeah there is alot of resentment for Hondas.

UGH! I had this same argument on my local Car Forum and the V8 RWD cars came out with the "Shoudlnt have brought a FWD agaisnt a RWD for pink slips" Argument even though this Lightning owner was OWNED by my buddy at the street races from a stading start!!!! But then he states he was only running 12's back then. Also the rest of the guys just bashed the Hondas, I mentioned that plenty of 9 second Hondas could have come on that show and just embarassed the Domestic guys. I said there are several around the country then the Domestic argument was "Hey there are several 9 second F bodies in the Richmond VA area!" OMG you can't ever win with these guys man!!!!

Keep in mind it is not just Import VS Domestic, you guys ever try to go to a VW board or Mitsubishi board, they bash us! Then the DUMBMESTICS think our Honda's weight 1500lbs , then we also run slicks and blah blah blah. It never ends!!!!!

You go to a Corvette Forum and they bash Supras, Camaros, etc etc. You go on a Porsche forum owning a Vette and teh Porsche guys will say "oh it is just a Corvette anyways!" It never ends. I think the internet is more for bashing other people then to bring peeple together sometimes! Even on this forum new guys get bashed for asking questions, always told to search and this boards search function is less than perfect.

People just like to hear themselves bitch and diss everythibg it sucks

I've been saying it for years -

Put your money where your mouth is...

More than 2/3's of the 9 second cars that this guy claims to have in the Richmond VA area have to be TRAILERED to the track, even for a test and tune and I doubt many of them can make more than 2-3 full WOT passes without breaking some cheap $.2 part they got from Pep Boys because they ran out of money to do the job right. There PLENTY of those HEAPS running around, trust me.

Nothing is funnier than the jokers I get in the store, just because they have V8's they forget their trucks weigh 5,000lbs or more. Sorry but 330hp from your Hemi doesn't move all that weight in any one direction in any sort of a hurry and I'll be more than glad to take your money from you.

Too bad Hot Rod Magazine has to limit entires into Drag Week.

Maybe some of you east coast Honda pilots should consider grouping up and showing those meatheads you can run with the best of them.

If you didn't know Tyler Hara is one of the first alt if somebody doesn't make it to the Hot Rod Pump Gas Drags.

I hope he gets in, he'll whoop some ****

What Boostage said is true as hell. Why is it that anyone who doesnt own a Honda, thinks that they are the slowest things out there, no matter what you do to them, and no matter how far you go with it.

We all suck! Also I am not a good example, when I made 616whp and went to the track with no seat time and bad track conditions and went 11.20, it doesnt help out argument on our local forums

its a world of differance going from no power to "high power" gotta learn to drive all over again.

people think we are crazy, cause we say we havent driven the hotrod car to its full potential... its a big step going from 300hp street car to 800+ hp race car.

The import drivers are part of the problem just as much as the domestic drivers. When I bought a Mustang the "import attitude" became so apparent I finally realized why a majority of Honda driver get no respect. Bottom line is import drivers are just as ignorant and have stupid sterotypes just as bad as the domestic crowd. In the end nobody can talk **** on a fast car weather import or domestic. So really, who cares what people think.

An idiot is an idiot, regardless of what continent manufactured his vehicle. Ironically, the population of import ricers greatly outweighs the amount of domestics, hence the infamous "ricer" stereotype. All you need is a local public auto auction which shelters dozens of battered EF's and CRX's, a $500 credit card and a local Pep Boy's which houses all the latest APC accessories and *Eureka*, instant recipe for yet another ricer inbreed.

I agree that there are stereotypes on both ends, but I don't think our attitude toward domestics can ever be at deep routed being that domestics have been racing much much longer. There are old ***** out there that have been around for 30 years that call mid 6 sec Pro-import cars riceburners just because they have an import body (just look at some of the quotes in the IHRA Turbo 6 Pro-stock interviews, you have professional Pro-stock race car drivers calling import powered race cars junk). They are as ignorant as they come and there's nothing that will get rid of that attitude short of them just growing old and dying.

with GM closing within the next year it really shows the quality of american made cars. Once most of the US car companies go under then we imports will be all that is left... Rock on while you still can people of the mullet.
