Changing Rotors
I know this sounds like a dumb and obvious question. But if the front rotors, pads, and caliper are changed to aftermarket ones, is it required to change the brake lines and fluid?
Yea I already knew that part, but what I meant was do I also have to change to aftermarket lines and fluid too. Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier.
Help us out here...
What sort of aftermarket parts are you planning on using. If your going to be using calipers that are identicle to your OEM ones, then you do not need to replace the brake lines. You just use the old ones.
If your going to be using a different type of caliper, chances are you will need different brake lines to match.
If your removing the caliper, you will defiently want to completely bleed all the old fluid out of the brake system (since brake fluid becomes less effective at high temps with age). This means you must buy new fluid to put in. Unless you go to Honda & buy Honda brand brake fluid, any fluid you put in will be "aftermarket". Any Dot3 or Dot4 fluid works fine...
