b18b rev limit..
my buddy is puttin a turbo on his b18b, and he asked me to ask you guys if it would be safe to make his rev limit higher like 500rpm's?? the motor is completly stock..nothing done to it..he asked this cuz the turbo wont be at full boost till like 4k..so would it be safe to put it at 7500rpm??
If its in full boost then, i dont see the point, 500rpms is gonna pass by so fast he probably wont even notice the difference, itd be better to invest a little money and rev like 2000rpm's higher
My freind once did that and his piston uppercut his valve and his head was all mess up. The valves spring can't handle high rpm. He was shifting at 7500 rpm like you say and we hear a big boom and the engine shut off . If your freind want to pull 7500 rpm get dual valves springs and there is no point off pulling that high of rpm because the head stop making power at 6200 or something for stock motor.

so keep it at stock rev limit?
so keep it at stock rev limit?
yes or upgrade your valve spring and retainer and put a bigger cams in it . I got the crower setup it a bad *** dual spring and retainer with 62404 crower cams on my ls turbo . no dyno because I blow my motor before the chance to tune it with my aem ems. My ring land of mess up bad to much boost 11 psi untuned but it was bad *** .
