i have a turboed and built gsr with a stock intake manifold.

is there any reason to upgrade? civic si or itr? is it a waste of money?

is there a much smarter upgrade to do?

what do you all have done ... not that im trying to be a poser, but im wondering where to now go with my current set-up.

 

worth the upgrade more air, but thats just me. Get the aebs gsr. Only like 140.

 

depends on your setup don't know what you go. Other stuff could be more benifical

 

i dont know about the 92 and 93 GSR, but i know that the other years all have two stage butterflies so at 5500 rpm the secondaries open and allow more air flow. A new IM would make your car louder all the time instead of just after a certain RPM... of course if you have disabled this then nothin to worry about. I would say upgrade however because the opening of the secondaries might cause some pressure problems within your system. Maybe some lag or waiting for the pressure to build up again, i dont know, im not a turbo expert...yet

 

Upgrading your intake manifold is helpful when pushing lots of boost...your set up determines when you should change the Intake manifold. Look into cams w/new valve springs...unless of course your built GSR motor already includes those items.

definately upgrade, you dont necessarily need to go all out on it in price, like what was already mentioned the AEBS, thats the mani i have and put down 430hp on 16psi with that one on my daily driver.

 

that sounds sick.....i gotta work out timing/ignition shiz right now.....word tho

 

I personally recomend the BBK SSI manifold. It's short so you get less boost lag and it takes up to a 70 MM throttle body without port matching. I have that mani and a S2 68 MM TB on my GSR swapped 89 hatch and that is the biggest mod I have done since I got the car. It felt like that gave me more power than MSD, exhaust, headers and FPR combined! I'm in the process of boosting right now, but with N/A that was an awesome mod. It's a little more than the other mani's but the quality is superb!

 

well first of yes you should upgrade intake mani's but...depending on what year your GSR is.....if its 94 up..then don't even think about getting a b16 or itr....it won't fit..wholes don't line up....i'd sugget blox...

 

I upgraded to a Skunk2 manifold, but I really couldn't tell you if it made a huge difference because I installed it the same time that I put my CTR cams in. There was a difference, but it was probably due to the higher lift cams.

The best advantage of doing this is easier tuning. It eliminates the IAB variable from the whole thing, so tuning it is a lot easier.

i would change the stock GSR intake to something better.......it does not flow as nice as alot of people thing especially with boost.

this all depends on your HP goals. if you plan on making huge amounts of power, then i'd recommend upgrading to a new intake manifold (skunk2, victor x, AEBS, HP). if this is a 94+ gsr, you will lose low-end power (torque) because the butterflies will always be open.
