hey guys, will a d16y8 bolt up to a y7 5spd transmission?

I cracked a sleeve and need to replace the motor, just wondering if i should be buying a transmission also.

im pretty sure it does, but isnt the y8 the best d tranny?

I did search...for a couple minutes. I heard the only real difference is that the y7 tranny has longer gears
