Default longlife with boost

I drive an 05 with 9000 miles, i've ordered the lovefab kit without the EMS or injectors. I plan to use an FMU and missing link combo (5 psi ). Anyone running a similar setup I would like to know how long and for how many miles you've been running this. Any problems, special precautions any info would be much appreciated.

you know, I was going to do the whole kit and the guy at the shop kept telling me it would be retarted to put 750cc's for 5psi. He keeps telling me that unless i'm shooting for big hp I don't need it.

then get smaller injectors......but ditch the fmu and like chubzilla said....do it right the first time, you'll likely have issues with the fmu.......a good engine management is the best investment in your boosted engine imho

an EMS is the best investment but it's only the best if you can have it tuned properly.

texx, fmu's and missing links were common 8 years ago because options for reprograming ecu's were very limited and rare. Find a good tuner in your area that has experience with the AEM EMS and do it right the first time. You can get by with an fmu and missing link but sometimes the difference between getting by and doing it right can extend the life of a setup.

i agree...splurge and get the EMS...

a turbo setup can be reliable if it is tuned right.

I'm of that same shcool, I'm in favor of doing it right the first time. That was why I
went with lovefab, but when the so-called expert presses the issue, you wonder. On 5psi I hope to put down at least 300hp. I was thinking that the stock injectors would sufice (yes / no)? Also, I would still like to find out what kind of wear you're getting on these stock internals.

Stock injectors are good for NA performance, NOT boost. If you're boosting without a FMU, larger injectors are a must. I would use at least 550's.

At 5psi stock injectors are ok. Im at about 80% at 7psi.

Agreed, get engine management and tuning. Im learning to tune my emenage now, just got back form the dyno. AEM would be the best way to go though.

Good deal, I called Cody and got the EMSu and the all in 1 gauge. I wanted those 550's but he said they buy in bulk so I guess I'll be running 750's. I also went ahead and got that 3in. exhaust. If anyone is running this piece I'd LOVE to see some pics, maybe an opinion or two.

Hay slideways Loveland mentioned that most people that run this set-up thrash the clutch almost immediatly, somtimes even on the dyno during tuning. I wonder, does this depend on the driver or is it unavoidable

Unavoidable. If you have an AP2, you're going to smoke it to hell. Get an aftermarket clutch and a non-delay slave cylinder.

First I've heard of the non-delay... Care to elaborate?

04+ has a delay to save the rear end from shock. 00-03 don't. Direct swap.

Estimated Time of Arrival = Day you order it + shipping time.

Cost? Anywhere from $750 - $1500

I guess. You'll never know how long it will last until it gives.

ACT disk and pressure plate. AP1 slave cylinder. Total tab will be less than the EMS.
