I've dealt with transmission work before by using a helms manual but it took forever due to manual tools.

How hard would it be to replace a head for the first time? The engine is in an eh2 so there should be less room to work with. The good thing is that I have no power steering or ac to worry about.

Take all the bolts off of the intake manifold and leave it in the car. That leaves you with timing belt, exhaust manifold, distributor, coolant temp sensor plug, one radiator hose, one heater hose, and the coolant sending unit plug. Easy beans man!

Where do do you recomend getting a whole gasket kit?

 

Head Gasket -

OEM: Dealer
Aftermarket: Up to you.

The rest of the set: Autozone.

If forgot to mention, you need a special tool or a bunch of zip ties for the timing belt tensioner.

The auto tensioner failed long time ago. Had it replaced with the manual one.
