INFO: http://www.Streetsohc.com
Street/SOHC is a heads up race designed for the sohc Honda Civic platform (D16A1 and dohc ZC engines are permitted). Entry level racers as well as hardcore enthusiasts now have an even playing field where dollars don’t amount to wins.
This race will be operated and maintained by the participants with oversight from selected volunteers. 100% of the entry fees go towards event payouts, and neither sponsors, participants, nor organizers shall profit whatsoever from the event entry fees. Payouts will be based on percentages of the number of participants.
Sponsors of Street/SOHC events are limited to contingency sponsorships to be payed out to winning drivers.
Finally, an inexpensive, competitive class where you can battle it out with evenly matched cars for cash prizes and trophies without corporate red tape. See you there.
If we get good feedback from this inagural race, we will look to expand it further. For now, look around at the info and enjoy the sight.

Although the rules need to be updated to reflect the D16A1 and dohc ZC's being eligable, this is a civic D15/D16 race.
Bringing the Accords/other makes into it without knowing their capabilities and being able to tailor the rules to keep it competitive, we're only running civics for this first year.

If I were you I would allow supercharged and nitrous D's too. I mean it would bring more participation.

You guys seriously need to open up your rules to CRX's and nitrous. You already have a minimum weight requirement, so there is no specific advantage to the CRX. And keeping the nitrous guys out is not wise. Nitrous is the ultimate econo power adder. I have run as fast as 13.31 in a stock Z6 powered Civic hatch with a single nozzle system, I think the nitrous competitors would be very legit at this event.

Just from experience in event planning, you guys need to open the rules up a TON! If you expect to have 100 cars, 20 will show. You could have a decent turnout, but you are turning a lot of guys away.
I don't have a problem with the supercharged/nitrous cars. This started as a local Minnesota "tournament" idea, and the track we are racing at is in northern Iowa.
If the nitrous/supercharded guys wanna come out, than we'll change the rules to allow it, I just hadn't heard from or known of any coming to the event.
The original rules posted by Streetwerks are correct, with the exception of the D16a1 and ZC motors being allowed.

This event was created to give D series guys a competitive tournament style race this summer. This isn't a big sponsored event, and we wouldn't expect anyone to haul out from California or anything. If you're in the surrounding states of Iowa and want to come out and have fun, swing by.
In the eyes of the participants (who run and organize this event) 20 cars would be a hell of a first year for what we hope is just the beginning of an annual D series event for the midwest.
