Default I need an aluminum nut, but can't find one.

I'm looking for an aluminum nut with a 1/8" npt thread. I've tried the hardware store and a local specialty store with no luck. I also tries http://www.mcmaster.com and they didn't have what I am looking for. Does anyone know where I can get one or can someone get one for me and I'll pay for it. Thanks.

I'm assuming you are going to weld it to something? Almost all the fitting compaines (goodridge, aeroquip, XRP, etc) sell weld in bungs with female pipe threads and male or female AN threads.

I guess I should have given a little more info. I need to weld the nut to an aluminum plate so that I can thread my coolant temp sender.

Every tap set in existance comes with a 1/8NPT tap....its the short stubby one. Why don't you just tap the piece of aluminum.

I just ordered the half coupler from mcmaster. Thanks for the help guys. I didn't even think about a coupler instead of a nut. For some reason I was thinking that I had to have a nut.
