ACT or EXEDY?
I'm getting a clutch swap soon. I'm currently using the ACT Extreme pressure plate with a street disc but it's going out on me. I'm thinking of either getting and Exedy clutch or another ACT clutch. The ACT clutch was great, but a little dissapointing that it failed on me in only a little over a year.
What do you guys think? ACT or EXEDY?
Also, what's the difference if I got a Street Disk or a Puck Disk? From what people told me is that puck disks aren't really great for street use because you can't balance it. True? or not true?
Also, since I'm already doing a cluctch swap, I currently have the ACT Streetlite Flywheel. People have told me that the flywheel wears down and that I should swap that also. Yay or nay?
Thanks.

I'm having a trouble selecting an exedy clutch. What stage should I get for a daily driving car and what street disk should I get? There're like three different street disks. Kinda hard to choose. And their website is no help either. Any sugguestions?

I have the exedy stage 1 organic clutch kit. amazing. great launch. great grip. little jerky at lower rpm, but hey, what do you expect. at about 5.5k to redline, it's as smooth and quick as you could possibly imagine.
That's funny my ACT Xtreme pressure plate with street disc just started failing me a little after a year too. I just took it as me not breaking it in properly. I thought highway miles counted and just rode around on the highway for several hundred miles before beating on it.
Did you break your ACT set-up in properly? I just replaced it with the same thing again so hopefully it'll last with a good break-in. I love the grip and ride.

How much power are you putting down?
Stock power, use a stock clutch. Or even up to 180 or 185whp, I wouldn't bother with anything more than an OEM replacement clutch. If you like a more grabby feel, one of the street organics from either ACT or Exedy. Anything more is just gonna make your car annoying to drive, with no real advantages.
And you'll need to have your flywheel resurfaced with a new clutch, but you don't need a new one.

Yeah, I broke it in as good as I could. I didn't hit the drag strip for a couple of months after. I guess ACT is really only supposed to last as long as their warrenty.

Yeah, I hope this Exedy clutch does well. I got the stage 2 with the three puck ceramic disc. I like the extra grab and a stiff clutch. Feels more sporty. Besides, a year after driving the extreme pressure plate, I've got a pretty strong left leg now.

I have the ACT XTSS, as you know there are many points that you can have the clutch pedal at for it to engage, disengage fully. Its nice for racing purposes etc, but I think that it does probably lead to some excessive wear on the clutch. Often I notice my foot is just off of the floor sitting at idle, which is almost engaged.
I would say either Excedy or a lower pressure ACT if you can.
