Default what final drive for drag?

i always wonder what fd do those big hp all motor B series drag cars use... it seems 4.7fd is most popular n always being mentioned among the HT members.. but when i watched some of the drag clips of those all motor drag cars, they sounded like a higher FD like 4.9 or higher.

how do we determine what is good for our set up? is it by how much hp your motor produced? and if it is,is 200++whp good with 4.9fd?

i ask this bcos i dont hv the budget to buy different fd and test run them...

the 4.7 is hard to beat. There are several factors like whp, tire size, do you want to use 5th, etc.

Because do you expect the pro's or even fast guys to give you an exact number of fd they are running. On those cars gearing is pretty important and teams spent tons of time and money figuring out the proper gears for there car. Next thing you know SS Autochrome will be selling fd setups. Sorry if i sound like a dick but come on now

4.9 is good, my friend is running the 4.9 with 222whp. i think he is crossing the line around peak power in 4th gear(somewhere around 8k) search for 92TypeR he uses it.

I would bet that Erick was running more than a 4.9 Final when he ran in the 9's...
