My friend has a 1993 Japanese spec CRX del sol, does anyone know how he can go about removing the speed limiter? Thanks

 

either get a usdm ecu.
a fields vtec contoller
a apexi rev/speed meter
or an hks speed delimiter

all of these are solutions to get rid of the speedlimiter.

Is there any cheaper methods? I think he'll go with the ECU method but will he loose power and gain top end MPH?

 

are you saying he will loose power because of the different fuel map?

the rev/speed meter is probably the cheapest pick it up off ebay.

 

Yeah I would of thought the jap ECU runs a more aggressive map but is limited to 112mph. There must me a wire he can cut of a jumper wire to put in the exsisting ECU?

Will a VAFC do the same thing? I think he'd like the added bonus of vtec control
