what a stock gsr "should" run and reaction/total time
"low 15's," yeah i know, i searched. but my question is that when people say that, does it include reaction time? i have never been drag racing before and today i ended up with a 15.7 with a r/t of .8 (i feel slow)... on second thought, would anyone like to clarify on whether the total time includes the time it took for my dumb *** to start letting go of my clutch? my main reason for finding out this stuff is to find out whether i'm a shitty driver (no surprise), or i'm fat. please don't flame. i was never really into drag racing, just decided to give it a try today.
Can't answer what your GSR stock should run...have never run my teg yet. In regards to your second question, was it a 400 tree or a 500 tree. .8 isn't that bad considering it was your first time. How did you shift? ie..powershift, granny shift? I noticed with my other car that when I powershifted, it took some time off my 1/4. As far as you being fat....every 100 lbs you lose or shave off the car, you gain .1 in the 1/4 roughly. So its either Jenny Criag or start tossing crap you don't need in your car when you go to the track. i.e. passenger seat, rear seat, jack, spare tire, etc, etc. The more you go to the track the better you'll be...just keep at it and you'll see improvements
This is a compilation of GSR time slips from Team Integra.
If I'm not mistaken, your time starts when you move, not when the light turns green.
What that reaction time is measuring is exactly that: How long it takes you to react when the light turns green.
It's all in timing. You have to anticipate the light change, because, like you kinda said, your cars not going to react instantly.. You have to let off the clutch, throttle position has to move.. Lots of lil things that add up.
And, for your first time at the track, that's not too terrible in my book.
Remember, a .500 is perfect reaction time, so only being 3 tenths of a second off isn't bad. Practice!!
Anyway, heres the list.

This was my second time out at the track(Orlando Speedworld Dragway in Florida) with this car. Temperature was in the low to mid 70s with very high humidity. Still working on getting better launches. Hopefully things will look up when my motor mount inserts arrive.

Nice 80 degree Valley night. I got about 3 runs in. First run missed third (my stupid nerves) 15.57@91.7 mph. Second run better- 15.50 @90.22 mph. Third run was my all time best. I had a 2.48 60ft and was rewarded with a nice 15.42@88.65 mph. I am VERY pleased with this considering I only have a c

This was my second time at the track, with not very many mods, I wanted to see what my car would do with a less restricted exhaust. So i ran a straight header (stock). I gained .4 sec on my time, and got into the 14's. I was not pleased w/ my traction and had some wheel hop due to my tires having bad camber wear on them. All and all this was my fastest run out of 8.

That should give you a good idea of what other pples reaction times are
theres no need to worry about your reaction time unless you are bracket racing...
you should be more concerned about your 60' time and getting that down...your ET starts as soon as you start moving

My old 96 GS-R, I was running like a 15.3 stock and after a V2 intake and Apexi N1 exhaust I ran the fastest of a 14.7. Mind you I'm in FL so elevation is key. Plus the conditions where just right. Like others have said though, RT has no affect on your ET.

Thanks.
Kinda handy to have. Gives you a good idea of what GSR's run w/just bolt on's.

thanks for all the info guys, really appreciate it.
here's a picture of my timeslip:

what do you mean by powershifting/granny shifting Speed94? i usually go all the way up to redline and then i shift. i always chirp going into 2nd gear also. is it something i should try to minimize?
btw the car on the right is a saturn. i got worried when i saw him next to me in the beginning... somewhat keeping up.

Your reaction time doesn't affect your total time.
Looking at your timeslip, it seems that a reaction time of 000 would be perfect. So with your .800 you really slept at the tree.
1) Try leaving on the last yellow light and not on the green. By the time your car starts moving the light will have already turned green and you'll be off.
2) Also, try different launching techniques. For me when I was Naturally Aspirated the times didn't start getting good until I learned to launch above 4500 rpms. Find what works best for you.
