ok how bout this? civic si (or dx) with 2.4 tsx mated to crv 4wd system?
just a thought...i know the crv real-time 4wd isn't as performance oriented as say the sh-awd on the rl...but with enough experimenting...a civic with k24 and 4wd is plausible right? and i know money will get you anything, but i mean that it wall all 'relatively' bolt up (the suspension parts will probably have to be changed as well as the driveshaft) like a type-r can be dropped into a crx opposed to the complex installation of say a sr20det into a honda? am i being too much of a noob? probably..
Anything can be done for the money....
however the realtime awd system isn't just
slip and activate
if its being overworked it shuts down
where i would assume by doing this you'd be building it for racing or perf use
that would probably shut it down ALL the time

Since the current CR-V is based on the 7th-gen Civic, I'm going to go out on a limb and say nothing will line up correctly. The cost/complexity of doing it will outweigh whatever benefits you'd get from the AWD system...Plus, you'd have to use the CR-V transmission, so say goodbye to 6th gear.
Overall, getting everything to work correctly might be even more difficult than an SR20DET swap.
