totally OT but help me out with my beater's new kicks: vx rims vs hx rims.....
Here are the choices for a '91 si hatch that will eventually get 94+ gsr brakes or better:
vx rims (13") with crappy rubber in good condition: $275
hx rims (14") with 2 brand new azenis and 2 michelin pos tires in good condition. Silver lip and gunmetal spokes (painted by the current owner): $300
I know the hx rims are light... ~12lbs? And the vx rims weigh what? (lighter, but by how much)
Now the car may see autox/ track/ drag duties this year (swap + b00st).....
Will the 13's be better or the 14's better and why?
Things to consider are weight, fitment over bigger brakes, good tire selection, and price (I think maybe the guy can go down to $250 on the hx rims.....).
HX:
-looks better IMO
-will be able to fit over bigger brakes (w/ slight mod)
-Wide variety of good tires available (including azenis!)
VX:
-smaller, but lighter
-wont fit over GSR brakes
-somewhat limited to tire choices (AVS-i, ??)
I'd say go for the HX's if you plan on upgrading the brakes in the future. They look nicer and 250 is a good price. Not as light as the VXs but still light all the same.

VX wheels ownz!
Look guys I used the word ownz in a sentence!!
Seriously, those things are light and if you know how to drive you can get them to hook with some good tires. I ran a 13.4 @ 106.7 with some Sumitomo HTR100 185/60-14 in my VX w/ITR swap. I was spinning shifting into 4th. With a little practice my ET could have decreased considering the MPH.
They also feel real nice when you take them off of the car. They feel like they are floating when you lift them.

nothing beats 13" hubs, but HX would fit better over the brakes and look better IMO.

Damn, my mind was just about made up on the hx rims... but what are you saying Kenji? You had 14" tires on vx (13") rims? How did you manage that?

BTW: did Dan and Ben buy those ef to obd1 conversions from you?
