Looking to find the correct tire size for the Rota GT3s I'm about to order. 16 x 7 on an EJ8. Looking for a comfortable ride, and we have a lot of pothole around here. I was told to go with 205/50/16... but 50 seems like it's too much?
I'm dropped on H&R Sports and have about a finger gap.

I was thinking the same thing, I used that calculator in the FAQ and 45 is much closer to stock. Will a 45 provide a comfortable ride though, and protect my rims? I'm on 195/55/15s right now.
Yup. 205/50-16 is too big. Go with 205/45-16. Another possibility is 215/45-16, which is less common, but is available for the Falken Azenis RT-615 as well as the Dunlop Direzza DZ101. Both sizes (205/45 and 215/45) are within 1 percent of the stock outer diameter.
If you're really interested in a comfortable ride and in protecting your rims from damage, though, you would be better off with 15" rims than the plus one fitment (16"), and you would be better off not lowering your car. (The 205/45-16 and 215/45-16 should still be okay for comfort and damage, but not as good as the 195/55-15.) Sounds like you've made mods that have the opposite effect of what you'd like to achieve with your car's suspension...
