k i have a 93 civic dx and the idle goes up and down i went looking for a vac leak but had no luck finding one but i did pull off a sensor and the problem went away for about 30 seconds and the car then proceeded to rev up and hold at a high revs

any ideas

 

dirty iac?

 

try taking off the IACV and get some carb cleaner and clean it out, let it dry and replace. see if that works
