hrrm those numbers are pretty damn low

2004 RSX type S chassis
2006 K20Z1 motor (swapped)
Comptech Race Header
Comptech CoAxial combo
Comptech Icebox intake
Quaife LSD
Hondata/K-Pro ECU reflash
Comptech Catback exhaust
Azenis RT-615

I ran 13.8 in the 1/4....

i haven't dyno'd it but the biggest gain for me came from the reflash and the race header...

you have to remember thos that K-pro will give better number than just the Flash....its alot more aggressive.

You guys have to remember that every dyno is going to give different numbers. There are far too many variables. A dyno is more of a tool for tuning but far too many people use it for bragging rights. The 1/4 mile is a much more accurate representation of a cars power.

Think of all the variables:

-Correction factor of every individual dyno (some places use a higher number to get better peak numbers)
- Weather conditions--> altitude, humidity, temperature, etc.
- Different types of dynos--> dynojet, dynopack, mustang dyno etc.

The list goes on. So all in all hit up the good ol' 1/4 mile and post up your results.

Thats kind of odd, typically the reflash smooths out the "dip". It is a very obvious problem on stock Type S's.

The easiest way to solve it, as stated before is with K-Pro and a good tune. I'm sure the dip is not as prominent as stock but K-Pro would definately be a wise investment. Especially if you are thinking of going further with your NA route.

Honestly, as I said before in my previous post dynos don't really matter. The reason I say this is because I would hate to see you spend a couple hundred on upgrading to K-pro and lose a few peak hp. Then flip ****. Track times don't lie, dynos do.

Really what is most important is no knocks, a perfect AF ratio, a smooth curve, an overall reliable tune. This can all be obtained with K-pro and some dyno time. While your peak numbers may not increase drastically, your motor will be thanking you in the long run. And you will definately lose that dip at Vtec, while "maybe" picking up a few hp along the way. Good luck.

Hey, I seen somewhere, that someone had a dyno chart of when he had the Hondata reflash. He did a before and after of a CAI, and the dip went away.

Yeah those numbers are low but as someone mentioned it could have had variables. Maybe that hook up on the cheap dyno wasn't that great... haha

That's pretty bogus off your mods. However, the tuners in this site aren't that great either so I'm not that surprised. If you want anyone to believe what you are saying, provide the dynographs. I pull 221.7 whp from Autowave's dyno dynamics dynometer. I have IPS-k2 cams, Spoon 4-2 2-1, Injen cai, full Amuse Titan R1 titanium exhaust, and K-pro. You don't come close my friend...

i just got a baseline dyno at hookups recently too on my stock ride...mean dip before VTEC too....i was told lowering VTEC to around 5200 would smooth it out alot. VAFC II allows you to do this WITHOUT K-PRO. just a suggestion if you dont have the ends $$$ for k-pro

how hot was it in the shop when you had it dynoed? RSX-S's are real sensitive to HEAT. A buddy of mine with an RSX-S with AEM CAI ran 14.9 on a cool night.....a month later he ran it during a 90-degree day and all his runs were in the 15.4-15.8 range! I think the computer starts pulling timing after the engine gets so hot....

Far too many people concerned with peak numbers. It means nothing. I've seen 100s of dynos and everyone always wants to compare and you can't. On a local mustang dyno a stock rsx puts out 150whp and 115wtq consitently. Most people would freak out at those numbers. It's used to tune and that's it. Only compare with others if you used the exact same dyno!
