Default h22a4 swap

I know that the h22a4 is not a very popular version, but I have a very good price on a complete swap. Don't know if it's the SH version (with ATTS tranny) or the standard one though.

My question is: considering I have all the parts, from ECU/wiring to axles, are there a lot of problems to face if I swap in my Accord 97 4 doors?
I heard that the connection to the intake manifold is a little wider than the h22a version. Is that true? I'd like to be able to use my AEM CAI from my accord.

I've heard about the conversion to a manual tensioner. Are there any other important things I should be aware of? I've done some search, but there are not a lot of extensive detail on the H22A4 swap.

Oh yes, another detail, it's a 2000 version and it comes with manual and auto tranny but originaly the engine was on the auto tranny so I suppose it means this is the 195HP version.

thanks for helping a newbie

The engines are identical, regardless of which tranny the motor came with. The difference in horsepower numbers was either due to some Honda marketing plan, or just a way of showing that the auto wasn't as efficient.

The motor came from a base model, since you said it originally had an auto.

The Accord's AEM CAI is 2.5 inches in diameter. The prelude's is 3 inches. (Throttle body diameter is larger on the H22.)

Essentially, the swap isn't going to be that much different.

The aem cai from the accord will fit over the h22 tb. i used the ludes axles with washers on the ends ( 97 ludes are longer at the splines ) wiring takes some time. what ecu do you have? do one thing at a time its worth it.

well H22A4 were 1999-2001 edition, so I suppose the ECU must be OBD2 and since my Accord is a 97 my ecu is also OBD2 so I don't expect to much trouble adding the fact that the engine comes with all necessary wiring

Are you saying that your planning on using your Accord ECU?? Just need some clarification here, because it sounds like you planning on using the Accord ECU.

Or are you saying your current ECU is OBDII so as far as wiring goes it's much easier since the H22 ECU you have is OBDII also??

You need to add h stuff to the f wiring if you dont have vtec and move some pins on the ecu i did but i got a jdm h. for the ecu it has a immobilizer if its usdm ( jdm ecu does't ) look into that. for the atts i dont think you can get it to work. read up and good luck

IF you can find one, the 96 Prelude ecu is still OBD2, but does not have the immobilizer.
