'Lude hard Cold Start
Hi guys,
My '92 Prelude 2.3 has a hard time starting when it's cold.
It cranks fine and eventually starts if I turn it over long enough (intermitantly), this can take anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, depending on the temperatue. The colder it is the harder it is to start.
If it's a nice warm day it fires up instantly.
In all cases it runs perfectly once started.
Sometimes when its turning over during a no start, it tries to fire..Bang, Bang ,Bang...like its not fireing on all cylinders...sometimes culminating in a slight backfire w/ smoke out of the manifold.
The MIL light never comes on, I have the full service manual and I checked for codes again the other day, none. I replaced the MAP sensor and plugs recently.
My next guess is the fuel filter? But I figure any of these should bring up some codes or light up the MIL?
It has twice in the last year had trouble starting when warm, but primarily it is when the car is hot.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Still waiting to get my hands on a pressure gauge set. Hopefully this week.
I did replace all four injectors though (I purchased new ones cheap enough) the car definately performs better, but the starting problem still persists.
What I have noticed is that if you shut the car off immediately after a hard start and then re-start it, it will fire right up instantly.
This makes me believe that it mearly needs to clear the cylinders of something (fuel?) which is why I hoped that it was a leaky injector(s) that was flooding the engine.
Does anyone have any other ideas as to what might cause flooding after the car sits?
Maybe oil in the cylinders, but it does not blow blue when started.
