Default Tilton release bearing and a exedy twin disk??

I tried posting this in the Tech form but didn't really get what I was looking for.
My question is has anyone ran the tilton release bearing kit with the exedy twin disk clutch? I called tilton about compatibility but they were not much help, they said the tilton release bearing is a bit smaller and made to only work on there clutch, but form some of the old threads on here it sounded like people have had success on different clutches. Any help/info is much appreciated, or if you know of another style. Thanks

Dont think it'll work. Tilton makes different throw out bearings for the different tilton clutch you run, either a carbon or metalic. and the bearing is, I believe smaller.

Yeah that's kinda what they told me when I called them, I was just hopeing someone tried this and it worked for them. I just can't imagine that a smaller bearing would make that much of a difference if it still made contact with the pressure plate. Thanks Art

Pitch in half and I'll do it.

if you can measure the tilton bearing, I can probably get you an answer.

ok.....I called tilton and one of the reasons you have to use there clutch is because the center hole on the diaphram is stock 54mm, and there set up is 44mm so it would push right through. The bearing it's self is 1.70" tall. Let me know what other spec's you would need.

called tilton about the same question and they say it was designed for their clutches only.

Yeah one of the reps I talked to pretty much gave me that same attitude, but kirk gave me the dementions and said it was possible if the exedy would match up.
