Default dx tranny and ex tranny different right?

i have a dx tranny now with a jdm d 15 and im wondering if its worth it to change to an ex tranny (besides the fact its not a b-series) because of the gearing.

yeah man, the dx gears are too freakin long. we did a mini me swap and ran it with our dx tranny and hit a best of a 16.8, did a lil searching around this board and found out that ex/si trannys are a whole lot better and can get a mini me hatch into the low to mid 15s, we just put ours in with a stage3 clutch, really big difference, hope that helps.

P20 A000 = DX

P20 B000= EX

i had an HX tranny, i swapped to EX, and i couldnt be happier. the gearing is alot better, go with the EX for sure.

um no...

92-95 tranny codes are:

P20/A000 is for DX/CX/VX
P20/B000 is for EX/Si

so actually, YOU are wrong. dont believe me?

s20 is the casting code. there is a difference of bearing size in the ex/si tranny vs. the dx/cx/lx tranny.

The different casting to make up for this size difference is why there are two different casting codes differentiating them.
