Default VTEC timer

I installed a VTEC timer and was wondering when the best RPM range it is to set VTEC for when your racing its a B16a also when the best shift points are to get a fast time. Thanks for any help.

i hope you mean a VTEC controller. It is set from the factory at 5500 because honda engineers saw thats where it was best. You can try different rpms and see what you get. I'd say try 5000...whatever, make sure you get some VTEC oil while ur at meijeirs too.

VTEC cross over can really only be tuned on the dyno completely well, I say stay stock unless the engine is heavily modded and you have dyno time.

ike svoboy said only proper tuning can actually make it help you but unless youve got heavy engine work dont be a noob and play with the settings the factory put on there

Dude dont mess with the "timer" device. It'll send you back in time like back to the future. BE CARFUL.

Vtec controllers do nothing but send a 12v charge to your solenoid. Does nothing for your motor because your cams don't change neither will your fuel input. Just put it back on eGay.

DON'T DO THIS

there is no such thing as vtec oil, its a term some smart ***'s use on here to act cool and to act like there smarter then everyone else.

you can only get vtec oil from a dealership (joking)

The same oil your vtec solinoid is the same oil you us when you do an oil change. It's just regular motor oil.

WRONG.. They never even get patched into the Vtec solenoid circuit.. I can tell you wired yours up hella good..

They alter Map signal to get a desired affect along with other things.. It's the most whored out hack known to honda ECU's.. it's trash.. Don't use one at all, especially on a boosted engine unless you like picking up parts.. it makes your car run rich and retarded or lean and advanced.. JUNK..

I do wanna get a V-TEC pressure guage so I can get my V-TEC to hit HARD! ;-)
