Which header r u GSR drivers useing??
I'm running a 4-1. From what I know, the 4-1 will give you more high end power, and a 4-2-1 gives more midrange power. So if you want to add a little more power to your vtec area, get a 4-1. If you want to try and compensate for the lack of power in the rest of the rev range, get a 4-2-1. You will see better peak power with a 4-1 though.
Well if you're doing 1/4 times, you're gonna be redlining every gear (or atleast 1st, 2nd and you're done), so you're gonna want high end power cause you'll be up in the vtec area and you want to draw as much power as you can. As far as 4-1 headers go, people recomend getting a JDM ITR header, I personally have a DC 4-1, which people will say is crap, but for USDM, I think it is one of the best ones out there.
the idea of 4-2-1 or 4-1 is now old...
they now have hybrid header...one company that makes it is hytech...
they have the 4-2-1 design but longer runners...which give power throughout the entire power band...

Currently I'm running a DC S/S 4/2/1 header. I noticed nice balanced midrange power after the install. Perhaps a little high end as well.
I'm thinking of going to a JDM 4-1 soon though. I think that it might help with my Solo2 b/c my runs are always held between 5800-8000.

I have a comptech 4-2-1,which did better than the jdm 4-1 on a typeR in the great header test, and did not suffer at high end. That has a stepped 4-2-1 for hp threw the entire rev band.

if you are worried about your dyno results or 1/4-mile times, then get a 4-1.. If you are stock, then it doesn't matter.. As usual, u need a PLAN, and then get the parts accordingly.. Bottom-line is that u get more power out of a 4-1 than u would a 4-2-1.. If u are putting power down, then you wouldn't be asking this question, but for info purposes, 4-1 with a 2.5" collector, hi-flow cat (or none at all) and 2.5" exhaust is the way to go for n/a.. 3" for forced induction..
Not long ago, I was planning to go with one of the big name headers, such as toda, or type one. However, after looking at the great header test and seeing the comptech outperform the type one, and come somewhat close to the toda, I have decided on purchasing the comptech. True, the test was done on a car that baselined at 176whp, and a car putting down more power would make better use of the more expensive japanese headers. But I don't plan on having much more than maybe 180whp when I am done with the car.
im using DC CC 4-2-1 just cuz i got a good deal on one, and im gonna be seeing boost in the future so i wasnt gonna spend too much money on some real nice one (toda, spoon.. ect)

Mmmmm, and a pretty Spoon radiator cap.
Oh, A'PEXi for me too. It's SS but mine looks nasty because I'm too lazy to polish it.
Didn't notice at first, but ebelp broke a stud like I did. No leaks though for me with Mr. Gasket copper header gasket.

Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade soon, but it's kinda expensive for everything I need.
