After some quick math, I've found that it would be roughly the same as a 2500lb civic with 750hp

Although that power to weight ratio may be correct, a 750 hp civic would walk a 600 from a roll/

True, but that wasn't my point. I was just trying to illustrate how amazingly fast modern sportbikes are.

Did you factor in the weight of the rider to the power/weight equation?

If you assume approximately 110whp and 400lbs for the bike, you get power/weight of 0.275 And for a 2200lb hatch that means you'd need 605whp. And 2200 with driver is pretty light. If you assume 2500lbs with a driver and gas which is more reasonable, it's only equivalent to 687.5whp.

If you factor in the rider, you're at more like 550-600lbs. At 600lbs and 110whp, that's power/weight of .183 For a 2500lb hatch that's equivalent to 458.3whp.

So while 600's are absurdly fast, they aren't quite as absurd power weight as you were saying.

This is definitely true. I'd bet that a 500whp civic would walk a 600.

That said, when I had a ~300whp civic I pulled on two losers on late 90's 600s. Which if you think about it isn't that hard. If you start a pull in their powerband in first, the bikes can't be full throttle because the front wheel won't stay down. If you start in the power band in 2nd, well, you're going too fast for the street.

All that said, bikes > all.

not to mention that a civic with 600+ whp would not be able to get any traction whatsoever under WOT in first gear....youd need some fat slicks to keep that kind of power grounded in a FWD.

Way to get technical Nims

I used a dry weight of 361lbs and the advertised horsepower of 108. It wasn't perfect, but I think it made my point.

The fact that I was in a "stock" civic and they were harassing me. I had a stock integra wheel, coilovers at barely lower than stock, black coated FMIC, and rusty straight 2.5" exhaust with a 42" resonator with a full muffler as well. As far as they knew the car was stock, yet they came up on both sides of me and were on and off the throttle staring at me.

Oh well.

I'm a biker, I wasn't hating

Oh snap! An 11sec crx, that has nothing to do with the conversation but thanks for the that. I don't care what your point is, you're wrong. I'm not even going to bother getting into that debate.

Even if you did have a valid point, it was completely unnecessary given the original thread and the demeanor with which I posted. I wasn't bragging, I was giving a reference point for the original poster. If you don't like my word choice, move on.

Did you just insult my civic and brag about your crx (which is a civic)? What was that about pot meeting kettle? FWIW, I don't have the civic anymore, but I'm sure my S2k and R6 are jokes too. CRX ftw!

As always, you made an assumption about my intent, flamed away, and you were wrong in the first place. I wasn't calling them losers for racing, I was calling them losers for antagonizing me, no doubt because they thought it'd be funny to humiliate me in a stock-ish civic. Also, for riding while in t-shirts and shorts. Understand yet?

I think it still fits.

Let's not get carried away... a 750hp Civic won't walk on **** 'cause it'll be broke as **** by 3rd gear.
