They both look the same to me, but is there a difference between b-series and d16z6 vtec solenoids other than the location of the oil pressure switch and the solenoid plugs being different? I think the d16z6 has a male plug whereas the b-series has a female plug.

 

Yes theyre interchangable.

Only difference is the location of the oil pressure sensor on them.

 

does the b-series vtec solenoid's oil pressure switch location get in the way of the intake manifold? is that why the z6's is off to the side? also does OBD 1 or OBD 2 matter with vtec solenoids?
