H22A valve springs - egg shape, lemon shape
in manual is written that there are 2 different shapes of outer valve spring (egg shape and lemon shape) but it is not specified which is intake and which is exhaust spring...
Anybody knows?
Anybody knows?
It says that the WIRE of the spring has some different shapes (someone corrects me if I'm wrong in this place).
From the begining: what's your problem? Do you have your valve springs mixed up and you don't know which is which?

I think the free length is slightly different between the EX and IN valve springs. Measure them and compare against the spec in the manual.
THIS IS JUST A QUESS!!!
But if I HAD to QUESS, I would say the lemon shape would be the intake side due to the reduced(limited) space from the VTEC lobe, but IDK????????

You are right, the wires that springs are made of are different.

Exactly, the springs on valves are mixed...

YES THATS IT!!!
so, in the light of new evidence, it is now clear that the springs with LEMON shaped wire are for INTAKE valves (they are shorter = 45,16mm (1.778in)) and on the other side the springs with EGG shaped wire are for EXHAUST valves (they are longer = 46,72mm (1.839in))
