What type of track are you talking about?

Circuit or drag strip?

definetly Toyo T1's, excellent grip and the wear rate is fairly good too, i got around 10k out of my last set and then changed to goodyear f1's, and got around 8k out of them, I put a new set of T1's on again last thursday, the F1s are good but the T1's are better!!

Toyo T1-S. If it's good enough for the Speedvision World Challenge cars, it's good enough for me too.

Question for T1-S owners: will they be able to last 2 summers when being used for street/daily driving? I'm getting mine next week and I hope I don't have to change them every summer

TIA

I just put on the T1-S's a few weeks ago so I don't know how long they'll last yet. But I used to have the T1-Plus's, which were the precursor to the T1-S, and they did lasted 2 summers. So I'm guessing they'll be about the same. But then again different people have different driving styles also. I don't drag at all or launch at stoplights at all, but I take corners very hard and autocrossed once or twice and did one roadracing event on the T1-Pluses. And at the end of last summer, I was wearing the wear bars down.

it's hard to have a tire perform well in both cases, i'd recommend getting a crappy pair of rims to put race tires on, and buy some good street tires that will last you awhile. just my .02

How are Khumo Escta 712's? I heard they were pretty sticky but they suck in the rain.Or the Yokohama AVS Sports? I like autocrossing and track racing, but I imagine I will be doing more track racing then autocrossing.

Weak sidewall/too much flex is another complaint I've heard on Kumhos.

You'd be better off w/ Pirelli P7000 or Dunlop W-10 if you want a cheap High Performance tire.

What's the difference between Pirelli P7000's and the P7000 SuperSports?

P7000 is summer only, and from what I've heard, a better performer than the all season supersports.

I have the P7000s right now and the wet traction is excellent, as is the dry, but that opinion is after coming off the Michelin XGT-V4s.

Anyhow, Saleen uses them, and they pull well over 1g on his cars.
