Anyone know the weight of one 205/50/15 Falken Azeni
I am debating getting spoon rims (15")
Currently I have 16" Volk TE37's with Pirelli PZero's.
I'm trying to determine the overall weight savings with
the spoon/falken combo.
I have the rim weights and Pirelli PZero Weight, just trying
to get one last piece of the puzzle.
Volk TE37 16" ~11.2
PZero (205/45/16) ~18..........total combo = 29.2 lbs
Spoon Rims 15" ~8.4
Falken (205/50/15) ~?...........total combo = ?

Updating the totals:

Spoon Rims 15" ~8.4
Falken (205/50/15) ~22.6........total combo = 31.0 lbs
What? Oh no, this is not helping the decision. Hmm..
is there a better distribution of weight at all with the spoons.
I guess it's more or less a toss up?
I really thought there would be more of a diff.
Spoon, volks, spoon, volks...both? I find it hard
to justify having both if the weight is the same.

i'll have a true weight for you tonite. all i know, is they are friggin heavy compared to my hoosiers....
So, for now, I think I'll keep the volks, and the money I would have put into
the spoons/tires, I'll buy header/exhaust.
I think this will be a better decision for me right now.
Sound good?

I weighed three worn Integra tires I have lying around, and all are considerably lighter:
1996 Michelin XGT V4, from 96 GS-R (20k miles): 17.5 lbs
1998 Pirelli Winter 210A (14k miles): 18.0 lbs
1998 Bridgestone RE010 (21k miles): 17.5 lbs
I also weighed a 1996 GS-R rim with an XGT V4 on it and got 33.0 lbs, which means about 15.5 for the rim (agrees with wheelweights.net). What's up with that? My old 96 GS-R wheel/tire weight was the same as my 98 ITR???

Did you weigh your Azenis? Can it really be 22.6 lbs???

I just weighed 2 Azenis on a bathroom scale... they weigh 46lbs or 23lbs/tire.
Just keep in mind to that Spoon 15" doesn't come in 7" width.

Holy crap! And even if you do get lighter rims, I would think a light rim plus Azenis that weighed the same as stock rim plus RE010 would be worse than the stock combo, because the weight would be farther away from the hub. So you pretty much have to get a super light rim to break even!BTW, the Kumho website says a 205/50/15 Ecsta 712 is 19.7 lbs, and 195/55/15 is 19.3 lbs.

A 9lbs rim + 205/50/15 Azenis (23lbs) = ~32lbs.

while we are talking about tire weight...anyone know anything about A032R??
This is harldy anything official, but Chris' well worn A032Rs were much lighter (3-4 pounds each tire) than my new Azenis.
Well, maybe it's not quite as bad as we thought. I wrote to a contact at Bridgestone, and here's
the weights he gave me:
> The tire weights you requested:
> RE010, 195/55R15 --- 20 lbs.
> S-03, 205/50R15 ---- 22 lbs.
So the Azenis might only be 2.6 lbs more than stock, not 5 lbs. Still annoying, but maybe not a deal breaker. Kumhos not looking too shabby, either, being lighter.
