well your last weld is showing improvement. I think you are trying to move way to fast on the other welds. Not seeing any penetratio non the pipe so that leads me to believe you are going to fast and dont have enough voltage. Turn up the voltage a bit. You want to see a slight ring around the welds and that willgive you an idea if you are penetrating or not.

any pics of the inside of the pipe on a weld?

try heat up, wire speed down. <-- take it from a fellow armature.

it looks like your rushing to compensate for a wire speed that is too high?

Try doing stringer beads (straight lines), not really any reason to do anything but on a flat piece of metal.

I'm also in the learning stage and one thing I've learned is set the heat on a higher setting and slow the wire down so you you get a slight bump. you wanna move the gun slow on the linear movment, but try doing medium pace circles until you get something like this:

Not half bad.......for a NEWB

Seriously, those look great for your second day of welding. I started off with a HF fluxcore welder, and it taught me a lot...wasn't a bad machine either. Your new MIG has definate potential. Just keep practicing until you are happy with your welds. The number one problem that new welders have is that they cannot see the puddle. Most of the cheapo helmets/sheilds are two dark and all you can really see is a bright flash. If you can position yourself and get the correct shade lense so that you can see the puddle pretty well, your welds will come out beautifully. keep it up, you're doing good.

the best advice i can giev to any new mig welder is to use "BOTH" hands to keep teh gun stable.

yea, I don't have a table but I put my stuff on a little stool, squat down a little bit, and rest my elbows on my legs....works great, except for last time, the welds didn't come out too good(maybe welding 2 in the morning doesn't much).
