I think the clear advantage that something such as Uberdata or Crome has over Hondata is the fact that it is virtually free (depending upon your ECU) yet still offers a tremendous amount of tuning ability as well as the option to do your own tuning if you have the knowledge to do so. As such, it is almost always what I suggest to individuals.

but with Uberdata and Crome you have to take the chip out and reflash correct? with the hondata s300 you never have to open the ecu again right?

"Better" is totally subjective.

Crome, Uberdata, Neptune definitly are a cheaper alternative to say Hondata. Not neccesarily better.
All these offer very similar options in the way of tuning capabilities, some may do a certain thing "better", but they are afterall out to accomplish the same goal.

Some chips do not need reflashing, and you can simply just reburn. Yes, you will need to remove it, to place it on a chip burner. Some will need reflashing everytime.

My suggestion would be unless your planning to full out learn and tune your car yourself, go with what the tuner in your area uses and knows best. Theres no sense is having (insert hondata, crome, neptune, uberdata here) if you or anybody your taking the car to, knows jack about it.

If you know nothing about it (like myself). Check out http://www.pgmfi.org, it owns.

<-----Running chipped p28, using crome. hopefully a dyno tune in another month.

Most people tuning Crome and Uberdata use an ostrich which hooks up to the laptop via usb and can be reflashed on the fly basically just like s300.

I have the ostrich and it offers the same RTP as the Hondata S300 does. My ECU stays in the stock location and my Ostrich sits in the glovebox, so whenever I need to change something, I just have to plug my Ostrich into my computer and upload changes.

Hondata and Crome are really very similar and can do most of the same things, but with Hondata, you are paying for the convenience of having all the hardware and software working correctly right out of the box.
