Congrats to Hookups - testing in AZ @ NOPI
Went with the guys from Hookups ( whitfield racing inc ) to AZ NOPI event to watch them blast a 10.69 @ 127 on the 3rd pass on the car. ( first 2 where on the street in front of the shop ) Hopefully they will get a fair shot tomorrow on the first round !
This car was or is a basic 2.0 ltr with ITR manifold and JG header we know the car has alot more in her with the right parts = just wanted to post and say thanks to all the guys for 8 days of hard work to get here. YEP this car was a shell 8 days ago and now it runs with the big guys !!
You can do this guys - stock intake manifold / basic header / basic 2.0 ltr / gearspeed tranny / 1700 lbs -

Imagine a complete shell then after 8 days competing with top teams then qualify number 2 with a driver who has never been into competition like this before.

Chris sold his Gold one yes - this is another goldish chassis thats been sitting in the shop for like 2 years. I think they got it from "indomotor" on HT back then. Then they got so busy with the shop it just had no time to get worked on.
But the last 8 or so days HookUps/Rage all came together to make that baby run, and run good. Mark which is Chris's good friend got to make 2 pass's from what I know before we left from Cali late friday night. His first pass here was 10.69 and he really didnt get a great burn out. Not to mention they were only preping the track for the turbo guys. I think the 60 ft was like a 1.6 which can be better but is great !!

Now we are all sitting here looking at the rain coming down hoping it will stop
Chris sold his Gold one yes - this is another goldish chassis thats been sitting in the shop for like 2 years. I think they got it from "indomotor" on HT back then. Then they got so busy with the shop it just had no time to get worked on.
But the last 8 or so days HookUps/Rage all came together to make that baby run, and run good. Mark which is Chris's good friend got to make 2 pass's from what I know before we left from Cali late friday night. His first pass here was 10.69 and he really didnt get a great burn out. o ok...indo's was a copper one...dang 10.6 thats in a street car chassis.

very basic motor - it was put together for my street eg as a daily driver about 2 years ago and sat at the shop that long. The block is GS-r and B16 head / Hookups pro stage head and gearspeed tranny, just basic clean up on the gears etc nothin crazy. We put a speedo pro for the management and this thing is still on a type-r intake manifold. MAde like 260 and 180 tq

Had a blast with the fellas!! The cars runs awesome and has a lot of potential..Big ups to Marc for putting it down out there this whole weekend. We are all tired and in dire need of some sleep!!

thanks alot for all the comps. i just want to say with out whitfield racing (Chris & Jason) none of this could of been possible. you guys are the best and the next time we will be faster mark my words. i want this baby b. to give the 9 sec. guys a run for there money. we all know who that is. this is just the begining, the best has yet to come.

You should be very proud: Only 2 new all motor cars have run 10s on their 1st time out at an event...yours, and ours at 10.3. An impressive feat indeed.
