VTEC cam lobe is bad!!!
Hi again!
I need some info on what would/could cause the vtec cam lobe to flatten out???
my leakdown test was perfect and so was my compression test... but at the time of the test my # 3 plug was a tad bit wet(oil)... then later that week my head started knocking and then ran on 3 cylinders due to plug could not spark from too much oil... I took the vavle cover off to see that my EXHAUST VTEC CAM LOBE was flattened out (#3 cylinder)....
any help and input would be greatly appreciated... reason i ask this question is because i have not had any time to tear the motor down

I don't know what would cause the cam lobe to flatten but I know you can have it fixed. I was sold a CTR intake cam and one of the VTEC lobes had a flat spoted. I called Web cam about fixing it and they basically told me to F off but I called a place in Washington and they fixed it and sent it back all within a week for $40. Let me look up the place....
im using CTR cams... i dont have any pics at the moment... most say that it could be my LMA
and SPARKLES, wow., i didnt even think its possible to get OEM honda cams repaired...??? if yours come back and works out great hit me up with some info on the repair...

Lost motion assembly.. They sit below the VTEC rocker arms.

Well, the cam was repaired over a year ago now and I've been using it since. Web cam didn't want to fix it because they have so much work that they could afford to turn me down. When me cam came back it looked like new and, like I said, I've been using it for a year with 0 problems. I completely forgot to find the name of the place...I'll be back with the info for you guys.
im sure its probably bent now but i'll find out in the morning... i know of course my valve seals are gone now because of the oil... but im hoping my vavle guides are not broken too

Ha, no problem. When I found my cam lobe was junk I posted in the all motor forum and no one could tell me anything so I started calling around and found Delta Cam right away.
Good luck, homie, and let us know how it turns out.
