less than 5 seconds after clicking on SEARCH i have found that the s80 is a gsr transmission.

dear god if you searched more youd know that gsr ctr and itr cases have s80 marked on them....but that s80 does not distinguish between gsr ctr or itr with 4.4 final drive or itr with 4.78 final drive

thanks for such useful info but maybe you should know more before you try to be an ***.......anyone else know if the remaining numbers can distinguish a transmission

that sticker alone won't tell jack. Some ls have s80 on the tranny case as well. Only way to tell is to drive it or open it up.

ok thank you...i thought there was a way to read the code....but if you cant do that then ill just have to open it and count the teeth....thank you
