Default How to get my radio out

Hi Everyone,

This is my first time on this board and I'm hoping someone can help me. I have a 1996 Honda Civic and I need to replace the radio in it. I don't want to have to buy a owners manual just to know how to remove the radio in it. I was hoping someone could tell me how to get it all apart without breaking anything. I think all the plastic around the front of it comes off to get to it. I don't want to start pulling on things that might break. If someone can give me a little help that would be great.

That helps a lot thanks.

I have one other question. The stock radio does have the keyless entry system. Is the radio in the car now programed to only my car. I will be replacing it with another stock radio from honda just like it. Will the new radio work with my keyless entry system?

Thanks!

you have to keep the factory radio in the car for the keyless entry to work they have a special wiring harness to keep the factory stero in and an aftermarket stero

The plan is to put in a used factory radio just like it. Will that one work? or does the radio have some kind of code in it to only work on that car it's in now?

Leave it in a bad neighborhood for a couple of days with the doors unlocked. Ok, just kidding.

I have tried that already, it didn't work. I also left the keys in it.

The problem is the volume **** is not working on the radio in it now. I found a few used stock radios on ebay to replace it. I'm wondering if they will work, or are they programed with a code that will not let it work with my keyless entry. Does anyone know?
