Well, I suggest you use 205/40-16. Or, you could use 205/40-16. A lot of good tires are available in 205/40-16. And 205/40-16 is a good size if you want to preserve the accuracy of your speedometer and odometer, since it's 0.8 percent smaller in outer diameter than your stock size. 205/40-16 is a good size to avoid rubbing. Did I mention that 205/40-16 is the best size for your '92-95 Civic?
Or, feel free to continue to ask for more suggestions. I'm sure others will be happy to recommend 205/40-16 too.

These are all very interesting tire choices but have you also considered 205/40-16s? I hear those might also work in this case.
OP: Do you perhaps need suggestions as to what kind of tires to get? Like what make and model of tire?
Cheers

The Kumho Ecsta SPT is $74/tire in that size and is an excellent tire at a low price. So is the Yokohama ES100 for $82/tire.
Just don't use either one in snow. If you have to use the same tires in snow as in warm weather, then consider an all-season tire like the Kumho Ecsta ASX.

The 205/45-16 will offer a better fit and less fender gap. I would reccomend those over the 205/40 16. Plus, you won't get quite as harsh of a ride and a little less pothole worries.
205/40 17 is good for 17" wheels.
plus, being that you are on a 7" wide rim and not 7.5" or 8" it is a more proper fitment.

WRONG. 205/40-16 is a better fit. Here's how the outer diameter compares to the stock sizes for the '92-95 Civic:
175/70-13 stock (most models)
205/40-16 -0.8 percent
205/45-16 +2.7 percent
In addition to throwing off your speedometer and odometer, there is a much stronger chance of rubbing on the wheel well liners with the 205/45-16 (many Civic owners have found this).
For a '92-95 Civic:
205/40-16
205/45-16

If you don't want as harsh of a ride or worries about potholes, you're better off getting 15" wheels instead of 16" wheels.
