Default Radio Codes: Radio Still doesn't work

I changed the battery on my 2002 3.2TL. Of course, I have to reinitialize all the electronics. The Navi's working fine, but the radio, despite having the code, yes I have the code that came with the car, still doesn't work, even if I enter the code following all the directions.

Any ideas on what gives? has anyone else experienced this same problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thx

You need to disconnect the radio antena from the head unit to discharge any static from the antena, reconnect the antena, then enter the code. It should work by then.
I had the same problem before and that what the dealer told me. Don't really know which wire to disconnect, but if you have small hand, you could reach to the back of head unit and pull out the antena wire.

no that doesnt make any sense at all. Your vehicle has probalby had a another radio installed in the car since the purchase. Remove the radio and check the serial number on the radio vs the one on your radio code card. If the one on the radio is different then take it into the dealer with the registration saying you are the owner and they will get the code for ya. Good luck

LOL I have the same problem. I changed the battery on my mom's 2002 3.2 tl type s and the radio code that came with the manual and the car didn't work. I called the dealer and told them the code didn't work after replacing the battery. They told me that i have to disconnect everything from the radio and reconnect them. So i ended up removing the whole center console which was a hell of a job because there was no way i could disconnect all the plugs i was only able to disconect the antenna wire but not the other 2 plugs.Well any way i removed the whole center console to get access to the plugs on the back of the radio. I was finally able to disconnect the plugs and reconnected them back and entered the code and guess what it didn't work. So i decided to remove the whole radio out of the car because there is no point in butting it back. Tomorrow i'am going to take the radio and all the paper work that has the code, vin;serial to the stupid acura dealership tomorrow and tell them their stupid idea of disconnecting all the plugs from the radio and reconnecting them back didn't work in accepting the code.

If you guys came up with something or figured out this problem please let me know.

acoorah -

alpine is 1/2 correct. You probably do have a different radio installed then as it came from the factory. But, on these gen TLs, you don't have to remove the radio just to get the serial #.

1) Open up the center console/arm rest thing.
2) On the trim piece that runs from there to the radio, remove the right (passenger side) one. This is simple. Just lift up on the rear of the piece, and it'll pull right up. Then gently just pull up on the rest. Off it comes.
3) You can now see the front side of the radio. The serial number should be right there, plain as day, on a white sticker (it will be sideways).

Jot this down, have your registration, etc, and take it to the dealer.

Hope this helps.

Does anyone know how to completely disable the anti theft code? I'am sick of this. I bought this car brand new and changed the battery for the first time and have this issue. When you take it to the dealer they always say that they are busy and can't look at it today. So that's why i ask if anyone knows how to disable the radio code? Hopefully the stereo shop can.
