I swapped a JDM SOHC 1.6l ZC into my 94 civic. Ever since then i've been trying to figure out which USDM engine shares the same internals. Everyone seems to have a different answer. The last i heard was that it's the same as the D16A6 from a CRX but with a more agressive cam. Can anyone verify any of this?

did you grab this motor from an older car?

 

They had two sohc zc's in Japan. The non-vtec and the vtec one. The vtec one is the closest thing to a D16Z6, vtec 127hp, etc... The other one is the better known one that is commonly swapped in EFs, 120 hp sohc non-vtec, etc...(closest to an D16A6) and it also came in a lower JDM DC integra trim.

ZC's came in obd-0, obd-1, and obd-2 versions. Check the head stamp so you can know what year your engine is.
