Springs V.S. Coilovers
which is better on a DC2....spirngs or coilovers...it doesnt matter what kind of springs or coilovers....but i would like to knoe which is better........how would they look like....what is the best ride height on DC2 or integras with rotas slipstream on them........
well i would suggest coilovers on any car no matter what car it is. Coilovers can be adjusted from ride height to how smooth or stiff you want the ride. Springs are the cheaper way to go but hold out a little longer for coilovers and itll be worth it.
I agree with whats said above... A FULL coilover is worth the weight.
Now coilover sleeves, they are a waste of money in my oppinion... to make them function properly you need to buy struts that are valved for the coilover sleeves higher spring rates. and at that point, you could have just bought Full coilovers to begin with.
Springs can be a good 'bandaid' until you can afford what you really want.

if you do not need the adjustability, there is no need to spend money on coilovers.
for a daily driver, there is not too much sense going with coilovers unless of course you have the cash.
i daily drive my integra and got springs just to get rid of the wheel gap. i do not need height adjustability.

I thought that even the stock suspension was a coilover system. The coil is over the shock effectively making it a coilover. Now are we talking threaded shock bodies?
Most people I know with adjustable coilovers NEVER change them. There's the select few who want them high for dd, and then slam them on the weekends or whatever, but it's still kindof a pain and they usually find a "just low enough" ride height.
I think in the long run i'll just get some mildly sporty springs with adjustable shocks

Some quality 'sport' springs would be H&R , Eibach, and Nuespeed to name a few. These springs can be had for less than $150 usually and have slightly varying spring rates, so do some research.
I would only advise Koni Yellow shocks, because they are top quality, height adjustable to fine tune your ride height, adjustable in dampening, and rebuildable. I have seen testing equipment that varify the effectiveness of shocks, and the Koni's out-perform all others tested. I am sure there is better out there, but for the price, you can't beat Koni's.
You will probably need a camber kit also and a wheel alignment when all is installed. All of this has been hashed over many times before, search is your friend.

coil-overs so u can change the height if needed.... helped me when i couldn't get on my driveway bringing the car form Ohio to Arizona, needed to raise a tiny bit even on a deep angle

Appearantly coilover springs that aren't adjustable are now just called springs and adjustable coilover springs are what should be referred to as "coilovers". Maybe I'm just old.

Every car i've rode in that has coilovers has been bouncy. Tein SS,Skunk2,Tein Basics, etc. Even the adjustable 'coilovers' like ground control are bouncy. Best rides are struts and springs. I have H&R Race and Dropzone struts, and of course skunk2 camber. The car rides better than any other coilover i've ridden in, imho. If you're going to go track, i suggest coilovers but for daily drivers, Struts and springs combo is the best.

height yeah but not damper? Well not the one's full coilevers I've seen (omni power, tein, etc). Maybe I didn't search enough...

I agree ^^^
except Koni's are very good. Tokiko's Illuminas would be the cheap, but decent way around if you can't afford Koni's imo
Plus you can adjust how stiff they ride

NOO. Thats only if you are a cheap *** and dont buy shock or a good coilover. If you want a coilover go with GC and Koni yellows. My friend also just had the cround controls with stock shocks and his car was not bouncy at all.

That brings me to a question, does GC make a spanner tool to adjust the fronts ?
Also when measuring the GC, do you measure from the top of the gold piece to the top of the inner threads, Or do you measure from the indent on the gold piece to the top of the inner threads ?

well if your gonna get coilovers..just think to yourself..how often would you be adjusting your height. if your just gonna adjust it once and leave it like that, then you should just get springs instead, if you like to play around with the height and stuff, then get coilovers..me personally would get springs cuz i'm just gonna adjust it to the height i like on the first install and just leave it like that..i don't want to waste my money if i'm just gonna adjust it once.
