Default 91 Project Hatch STD

ok well im just in the process of getting this 91 STD hatch back, the body is in great condition no rust or anything, its comming witha D16a6(si motor and tranny)

i want to build off of this motor for now any suggestions that i could do?? also the motor has a thrown rod but no damage so i was thinking of putting 88-89 integra pistons to run about 12.5:1 to run high compression then what else should i do??? could i/ should i go SOHC v-tech or what?!? let me know what you all think.

What do you mean by, "thrown rod"?

Usually that means you broke a rod and it came out the side of the block. I can't think of any scenario in which a "thrown rod" would not cause any damage.

The list of things you could do as far as engine combos go is endless. You could install anything from another d16a6 to a SOHC VTEC, to any b-series, h-series, or even k-series.

You could also do turbo on just about any of the above listed engines. Start doing some research about what other people have done and decide which engine will be best for you.

the guy that im getting this car from said that it has a thrown rod, but no damage to the motor....maybe he replaced the block, b/c he was saying how he was going to thorw in like 3 d15 blocks with the car n-e ways, i've seen pictures of the motor everything looks fine to me. i was going to to a b-series but just everyone has that and its getting old. Would love to to the k20 swap but to much $$ was looking at an H22 swap. or just doing V-tech and maybe turbo.
