problem with ground controls, konis, and tophats
So I have aset of 400#f and 450R with regular koni yellows and front top hats. Well the car ikinda low maybe 1 or 2 finger gap. I seem to have no suspension travel. maybe 3in with the tophats. I would like to maybe raise it a little and hope this would take car of problem. How do you recomend I compress it? Normal spring compressor won't fit and these things are hella stiff? I'll post apic in a bit. I have the koni on the second highest perch and just a little under half on the springs?
well I'm glad I called ground control. I do not need to cut the bumpstops. I have the bumpstops givin to me from GC. Tophats give you more travel. Apparently if you use the higher perches with koni's the sleeve will hit the top. lowered to lowest perch and just readjusted the sleeve to make up the difference.

Damnit, that must be how I bottomed out my front suspension. I have a similar setup on my 00 gsr, Koni Yellows, 400/400 GC springs, GC top hats in front. And a nice pothole slammed the suspension so hard, I figured I must have run out of bumpstop. But, if the threaded sleeve itself hit, that could have explained the experience.

From what I've read, most people recomend you set the GC sleeves on the lowest perch setting on Koni sports. I never really new why (other than to go rediculously low), but it seems some interference can occour.
Make sure you're not using the OEM dust sheilds as they too will hit the threaded GC sleeve...

yup. When I called GC the guy new right away what I was talking about. Very helpful. use the lowest perch and no problems
