I have the 90-91 Si 'tear-drop' style alloys (missing one center cap) and I was wondering if the center caps off the earlier 88-89 style Si alloys would fit on the later style. The center caps look quite similar in photos. Thanks.

nope they are different. i have 88-89 center caps nd my friend has 90-91's and they arent the same from looking at them

the caps have stampings on the back from the factory that shows a chart of what years it will fit and the manufacture dates that correspond to them.
