Default Low RPM grinding

Hey guys,
I just posted a few days ago about a knocking noise in my new ITR .. well new to me ... A few members said it was probably the valve hitting and not a knocking noise. That made sense so thanks for the advice everyone!

Here's another question:
I have this interesting grinding noise when ever I'm in either 1, 2, or 3rd gear while driving with the rpm low like below 2.5. An example is cruising in a parking garage or around my neighborhood.

The noise only happens when ever I give it alittle gas, but not when i'm letting it cruise. I know its alittle hard to understand so I made alittle video clip.

The noise is really noticeable near the end of the clip. In the middle there's a louder vibration noise, but thats just change in the ashtray ( forgot to take it out).

Any help would be great! Thanks again!

I've shown the video to a few friends of mine and they said it might be the syncros. Don't know what that is, but wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks again and loving my itr by the way. Don't think I'm ever gonna sell this thing!!!

Could be a lot of things. A rock caught in the caliper/dust shield, dust shield grinding against the rotor, bad wheel bearing, bad tranny bearing, etc.

It's not a synchro problem tho.

I'm thinking that since it only happens under acceleration, that it might be a differential or top of the mainshaft bearing that have to put up with thrust loads more often than any of the other transmission bearings.

hey thanks for the reply. I took it to Acura to have a guy sit with me while I drive it. He said that he's not sure what it is, but was guessing a bearing. So he said that he would have to take apart the Tranny and it would cost aleast 800 for just taking down the tranny and other cost may be added on if he finds other problems.

I'll look up your suggestion In Vtec .... What would I have to do to check if thats the problem you suggested? THanks again

Visual inspections for the brakes and dust shields.

I would just crack the casing on the transmission, remove the gearsets and then the diff, and spin the bearings on the (first the diff bearings and the bearing on the end of the mainshaft, and then all of the other bearings). The bearings should be fairly quiet when you spin them. A large amount of chafing noise while spinning is a bad sign.
